It has never easy asking for help, but in golf, it is practically a necessity. Unfortunately, we often ask our buddies and partners, when in reality we should take a lesson or two with a professional, usually called the Club Pro.

We may think that a Pro would criticize too harshly, but they are honest, positive and usually very helpful.

Golf lessons at the local golf course aren’t as expensive as you probably think and they are worth it too, because your game will get better more rapidly and cause you less frustration, making the game much more enjoyable for you.

It is of utmost importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will ask you what you think you need to start with: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel you need assistance with.

Listen to the Pro golfer very carefully and follow the Pro’s instructions. You may have concerns if the Pro changes your stance, your grip or your swing, but honestly, the Pro does know what is best.

Don’t hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions. Don’t worry about whether your question or concern may sound stupid – they’ve heard it all before and will not make you feel like a fool for asking. If you don’t get it, tell him/her that you do not understand. You should never walk away from a lesson with unanswered questions.

For example, a strategy might be to concentrate on one thing during a lesson, or on several. You might start with a lesson on driving; get the right grip, the right stance, the right swing, the right follow-through in one lesson, and then practice it for a few weeks until you feel that you’ve got it right. Next time, you might want to work on your short game, or putting.

You’ve invested in your set of golf clubs and it isn’t cheap, is it? So, it doesn’t make sense not to learn how to use it to it’s best advantage and improve your abilities, does it?

How many facts are there to be known or learned about all the objects and phenomenon in our entire universe? Just think: there are about 1 x 10 ^22 stars in the universe, that’s 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars; then there are many of those stars that have planets in orbit around them. Then consider the moons that orbit those planets and the comets and asteroids, the galaxies these stars form, the nebulae and black holes and everything else that’s out there. The amount of information and data is really quite mind-boggling. This article definitely will not contain every fact about astronomy, but they are very interesting facts nevertheless.

We will start by taking a look at a small section of astronomy: “the brightest stars seen from the Earth”. That is excepting the Sun which is roughly 250,000 times nearer than the next nearest star. In fact, it is so bright that when the sky is viewed from the Earth, it blinds out all the other stars in the sky during a phenomenon called daytime.

Remember that according to the scale for the magnitudes given, lower numbers are brighter. Our Sun would be about -26.73, while the full moon is -12.6. So, with that in mind, here are the top 5:

#5 is Vega, meaning ” falling eagle” in Arabic. is in Lyra. It’s more or less 25 light years away and has a magnitude of 0.04.

When considering these astronomical facts, please remember that ‘brightest from Earth’ doesn’t mean largest or brightest. The Sun is not the largest or brightest star in the universe or even the galaxy, yet it appears so bright because it is so near compared to other stars.

#4 is Rigel – a very bright, bluish-white supergiant star in the constellation Orion. It is a binary star, with an average apparent magnitude of 0.12. It’s scientific name is Beta Orionis. Rigel is Arabic for ‘foot’. It’s about four light years from Earth.

#3 is Arcturus. The name is Latin/Greek and means ‘guardian of the bear’. This star is roughly 37 light years away. It is in the constellation of Bootes, behind The Great Bear. It has a magnitude of 0.00

#2 Canopus – the Greek name of the pilot of the sailing ship Argo in the stories of Jason and the Argonauts, is the brightest, however, because it is 313 light years from Earth, it’s only second in this list of the five brightest stars seen from Earth. It has a magnitude of -.62.

#1 is Sirius, which translate from the Greek as ‘scorching’. It’s also sometimes called the ‘Dog Star’ because it is the brightest star in the constellation of Canis Major, which means ‘The Big Dog’ in Latin. It is situated only 9 light years from Earth, which makes it easily the second closest of these top five. It has a magnitude of -1.44, which makes it very easily the brightest star that can be observed in the night sky.

These few data don’t even scratch the surface of subject of astronomy but it’s something for you to think about the next time you gaze up into the night sky.

I picked up one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ type magazines the other day and got to asking myself where these women actually live, who wear the golf attire shown in women’s golf magazines? I have never seen women, not even the pros, wearing such expensive and flamboyant clothes.

It’s so simple to spend tons of money kitting yourself out for the sport of golf. Think about hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windbreakers and shoes, and it is obvious that the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at cheap online sales. Then you have to add in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play a round of golf really quite frequently to keep the “CPU” (cost per use) down to a tolerable level.

One half-page advert showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in really tiny shorts (like that’s permitted on golf courses!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.

That totals just about $1,500! I know that it would be impossible for me to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near a normal limit in my entire golfing life! Please don’t get me wrong – I do love clothes and I do really, really love shoes, but I could never afford, nor even want, golf shoes or pants that cost as much as most people’s weekly wages.

OK, you need comfortable golfing shoes that don’t look like an old pair of wooden clogs, but honestly, you will be able to buy less expensive and yet still trendy golfing shoes.

I have several very stylish golfing outfits, although none of them are brand names. If I totalled up the cost of all of them, it would not come to the price of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I’d rather have several trendy outfits than one outrageously priced one.

If I were to wear a $1,500 set of golfing attire to play golf in, I would just be too worried about getting it dirty or perspiring in it to enjoy a decent round of golf.

Golf is a carefully balanced game of rules and etiquette, and it’s very important to know the essentials of golfing etiquette before you go on the course to play your first game of golf.

Golfing etiquette dictates that it doesn’t matter whether you are playing alone, in a twosome or in a foursome, you must always wait your turn. You must also stay aware of the group on the next hole and wait until they are well ahead of you before hitting your ball.

Golfing etiquette also says that it is never cool to “hurry” the group in front of you. If you are playing with others, wait your turn to hit the ball and never hit at the same time as another player.

While you wait for your turn, go to your ball and determine what club you will need to use and how you are going to hit it. This is called “ready golf” and keeps the game moving along. Don’t rush anybody, just be ready.

Another nice piece of golfing etiquette, especially for the novice is ‘playing through’. For example, if your team is holding up the players behind you, say because you are playing consistently over par, let them play through. You would simply wave them through, or if they are near enough to you, just ask them if they would like to play through. You will never make an enemy by doing this!

When someone is making a shot, you should be standing behind them and you shouldn’t make a sound! It is very distracting to be about to to tee off and just as you pull back, someone decides to jingle loose change in their pocket or noisily unwrap a sweet.

Replacing divots. Let’s say you are on the fairway and you hit the ball a bit thick and a clump of dirt and grass goes flying, no problem, but golfing etiquette says that you ought to repair the hole. On some courses you just put the turf back into the hole and step on it to keep it down, but on most courses, there is a sand/seed mixture on the course to put into the divot. Also, if your ball makes a deep impression when it lands on the green, you should use your divot tool to repair it.

As soon as you have finished a hole, replace the flag and leave the green as quickly and quietly as possible there may be another team teeing off at the next hole) so that the next players can play that hole. Tally up your score and write it on the scorecard when you get back to your trolley.

Of course, there are many more rules of golfing etiquette, but these simple ones will enable you to get through the course without making anyone annoyed. If we all keep to golfing etiquette we will keep the game dignified, right?

Astronomy is the study of the universe. It is a serious science, but also a very pleasurable hobby. Therefore, whenever an astronomy picture of the day is offered to people, they usually grab it. There are plenty of such pictures to choose from, and plenty of interesting objects out there to keep people looking.

Of course ,NASA is one of the primary sources for an astronomy picture of the day. This site, NASA.gov, shows a new picture each and every day. There is also a section that shows videos. These could be used to create your own image site. Saturn’s moon Enceladus was the ‘star’ feature on November 5, 2008.

This photo was taken by a passing spacecraft. It can reproduce details the size of a bus. The ice on this moon reflects as glare, nearly 100% of all the sun light that hits it. So you would need to wear sunglasses! This moon is so unusual that Cassini will continue to fly by for more pictures later on in its mission.

NASA retains an archive of all the astronomy footage of the day dating all the way back to June 16 of 1995. It was a ‘what if’ photo of the Earth posing as a neutron star. The image is a computer generation. The most interesting feature is that the constellation of Orion is visible twice. Even light from behind a neutron star is visible because the dense star bends the light around it. This causes some objects to be seen twice.

The entry for September 8th, 1995 was an amazing image of the central part of the ‘Milky Way’ galaxy taken by NASA’s COBE satellite. This area is usually not visible because of the dust obscuring it. But COBE scans in infrared, so produced that fantastic picture of our very symmetrical galaxy.

The astronomy picture of the day was identical on January 1st, 2000 and January 1st, 2001, the reason being that both dates displayed this image is that the majority of people considered the year 2000 as the first year of the third millennium.

However, the third millennium actually commenced on January 1st, 2001. NASA figured it was just better to just do it on both dates. apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap010101.html displays man’s view of the universe as it progressed from mere objects orbiting the Earth, all the way to the ‘Big Bang’ creating the universe as we know it today.

The arm moves in wrestling include the arm breakers, arm drags, over the shoulder arm drags, arm swings, etc. The arm bar take down is another of the moves in wrestling. The arm bar attacks by forcing the arm of the opponent downward.

The challenger feels the strain about the shoulder area and the assailant then grips the arms extending them lengthwise. The shoulder is eventually dropped to the mat. This will result in a pin in most cases unless the wrestler can wriggle his/her way out of the hold.

The arm breaker manoeuvres include the slamming of the arms, typically on an area of the opponent’s body where it will hurt. Typically, the pin ends with the scissors hold, where the wrestler’s legs are crossed over the challenger’s body, holding his/her shoulders down to the mat.

The various moves, manoeuvres and holds appear to be painful in the ring, but the fact is that these wrestling moves are all choreographed, that is, they are just a theatrical show to get your attention. The actors rehearse their scenes long before they get into the ring and are trained to send ‘signals’ to end the bout whenever should they want to.

The wrestlingmoves seem real on television, because the cameras and other distractions, including models, divert the attention of the viewers. Wrestling is really quite similar to how magicians work. Magicians rehearse their stage act before they go on the stage. There is always a feint or an explanation, yet the magician does his act so smoothly and the audience is so distracted, that the magician makes people believe that he or she is doing the thing for real.

The ‘arm drags’ involve the assailant getting the opponent in a hook move and then flipping the challenger down to the mats. Most of the moves are thought up by one or the other of the wrestlers and sometimes it may become a popular move. Some of the older moves are the Gallatin and the Banana Split

The ‘over the shoulder’ move should be called the body slam since the opponent will throw the challenger over his shoulder, slamming him/her onto the mat. At one time, this wrestling move was probably a slammer, but today it is the shoulder-arm throw move.

The ‘wringer; is another of the arm moves in wrestling which is sometimes known as the ‘spin wrist lock hold’. This move is often followed by the Irish Thrash moves, mallet locks or gouges.

Other arm moves include the arm stretches, arm breakers, arm wringer, arm locks, arm bar and arm scissors. While the arm moves are famous in the ring, there are many new moves today that you would never have heard of when wrestling first began in ancient times. The Amityville Horror is one of wrestling’s more modern moves. Although, I haven’t figured out what this move entails, we are about to look at it together.

From what I can make out the Amityville Horror is just a way to persuade people to rent or buy the film with the same name. The move is listed in the list of wrestling moves, however, so far, no information is available about what this move entails. Moves are basically brands made up by the wrestlers themselves, so I’m assuming that the wrestler felt he had devised one of the most horrific moves in wrestling and so he called it the Amityville Horror.

Why do some moves get roaring applause? Well, it can start when a wrestler in the ring brings in something new and it becomes his trademark, popular final move in bouts.
