Have you ever considered that a leaflet can be one of the most important of all your marketing materials?

Have you ever considered that a booklet can be one of the most important of all your marketing materials?

It is a simple piece of paper but the original impact that your brochure produces is important. If it’s shabby and off-putting your prospect is left with the same opinion. This will weaken your business development.

Having a leaflet professionally designed and published is a key to success in a jam-packed market. Taking the time to make sure that your booklet delivers all the key data in a way that is easily figured is something that only a professional can do.

If you are just getting started in business you may be tempted to do your brochure yourself. When I first started in business I did everything myself – not a excellent choice. That is why it took me 12 years before I was even comparatively successful. Heed my warning – go professional from day one on your marketing materials. They are an investment and not an expense. Professionally created materials will deliver you customers and the cash flow to follow – the reason why you are in business.

A leaflet has to use eye-catching design. It has to be brief in terms of the content and last but not the least, it must be successful in enticing people to make that call of action.

Here are three key design rules to follow when making a booklet. Use them and you will see your results flow.

1. The cover:

The cover is your salesperson. Booklets are quite passive creatures and you are not often able to ‘walk’ individuals through your pamphlet. So you need to excite people to read further. The cover is the beginning point so must be inviting and sharing the KEY values of WHY someone should read further. It should answer the WIFM question – What’s in it for me.

A great design company will show you at least three to four cover designs for your booklet. Analyse these designs to examine which energizes you the most. Ask your supporters their opinion. Does the cover answer the question WIFM? If it doesn’t energize and answer the WIFM question, then skip to another design that works or get it redesigned. Taking the time here to get it right will pay premiums later.

2. The Content:

Once they are past the cover then the message has to become the sales rep. So once again, the pressure is on to be good. Do not opt for cheap uneffective content writers or ask the designer to write the content or worst still do it yourself. Instead make sure that a professional copywriter is doing the work. If your design company does not have a copywriter then employ one yourself.

Check Out that all the main questions that a prospective client will have about your merchandise are answered in a way that gets them to call you for more information. Do not go into ‘overkill mode’ and flood them with too much data at this point in time. Remember the brochure’s job is to energize and get people to call you.

3. The call for action:

If your likely client has read the leaflet then you have done a good job. All you need to do now is give them a compelling reason to contact you NOW.

Having things like a free call 0800 or’00 number distinctly shown (in big letters) can make a fundamental difference. Having an email address is a clear bonus. Make sure these two are distinctly placed in large clear type.

Even give your customers a special coupon on the brochure or reference code can help. But above all, make sure that you add a clear call to action. One way to do this is to readdress the KEY value of your service to your prospect in a way that will get them to take action. Remember value is everything. Individuals only buy something that is of value to THEM.

4. The part that got forgotten:

I did this on purpose and only said there were 3 points. Well the last point is the one that can get neglected. It is the ‘dummy’ one. Have you checked that you have these on your pamphlet:

Phone number | Fax number | Email address | Web address | Country of operation | City / area of operation | Company name | And have you proof read for typo and grammar errors?

To make the consumers buy your product, you need to communicate its benefits, which requires a smart communication strategy. A well designed company brochure can tell the customers about your offerings, and the advantages that they offer over others.

When you have a great offering but you are still not making money, it is time to re-evaluate your go to market strategy. A good way of doing this is through a corporate brochure, which communicates the customer about the good points of your products and services and differentiates them from the competition.

A brochure will not have a good impact if it is boring, and use of graphic designs can go a long way in making sure that you have a striking and at the same time professional looking brochure. It will engage the customers and will assist in conveying the information much more forcefully. This entails the need for an expert brochure designer.

It is possible that you can design a brochure yourself if you are technologically equipped, but it will require a lot of time for a beginner to come up with an appealing corporate brochure with graphic design. It will not take long to understand that it will be wise to invest more time on your main commercial activity instead of creating a brochure.

Even if you do not have deep pockets, you can hire an expert to do brochure design for you, as the cost is affordable. A pro designer would ensure that the material of the brochure is interesting and appropriate to help the client comprehend the benefits of your offerings. The variety of graphic designs and layouts that an expert brochure designer will have access to would be a lot more than what an amateur would be able to provide. In addition to this, he would be able to get the brochures printed at economical prices, which would significantly reduce your headache.

In the same way as you are better aware of your trade than most other people, a pro designer has much more knowledge about designing a brochure than you would. Hence, the best way to get the job done is to make use of the services of a professional. This is what businesses called outsourcing for higher quality and much dedicated expertise but assured to be on a lower cost.

Discover how creative catalog designs can accelerate your business growth using qualified graphic design professionals.

Let’s talk basics and then figure out how to make them better. That way, whether you are just starting to lean about copywriting or you’ve been at it a while but for some weird reason your boss is making you read this, then everyone can still come away with something useful. What we want is for you to be able to make a good impression with your copywriting. It’s not too hard.

Copy needs personality. You may be writing for business instead of pleasure, per se, but the info you need to get out into the world still has to be attractive. For example, you can say, “It’s been said that cats can be great pets.” But that’s passive and boring. Instead try, “Cats make wonderful companions.” In the same way, go with a tone that matches the product or service you’re trying to sell. Kids, for example, need simpler vocabulary and would like a sentence such as, “Kittens love to play with feathers other soft goodies. With you by their side, they may even curl up a nap in your lap!” An adult, on the other hand require more forward language, like, “Cats thrive on spending time with their owners, be it a cuddle on the couch or a game of hide and seek.”

Don’t forget about Story. You may not be creating mythic fantasies or extraordinary worlds, but story is still a big part of copywriting. What I mean by this is that you need to get specific with your message and/or product in a way that lets the reader get closer to it and essentially wants it. Let’s stay with our kitty cat example. A general piece of writing like, “Do you love cats? We’ve got them. Come see if one is right for you,” does little to entice a reader to buy. This is better: “Do you love little whiskers, tiny pink paws, and the love only a kitten can offer? Otis would love nothing more than a companion to snuggle up with on the couch while watching Pet Story.” In this example, the potential owners get to see exactly what they’ll miss out on if they don’t act. The writing has given Story to the ad-there’s setting, character, and emotion. The more of this that you include in your copywriting, the more successful you’ll be.

Now add in some pressure to act. When copywriting is good, it causes the reader to buy the product or service. No doubt you’ve seen ads that say, “Supplies won’t last!” and “Call now, before it’s too late!” This is a copywriter who is trying to get a reader to feel “need.” It’s also not very creative copy, but it does work. What also works and is creative in it’s subtlety, is what you want to strive for. For our cat example, avoid copy like, “Our cats go fast.” Instead, try something more specific like, “Only 3 kittens still need homes.”

Another aspect of effective copywriting is offering proof. This is sometimes called “social proof.” When 4 out of 5 doctors agree that a Medex is the best drug on the market, you know the copywriter is using this strategy. It makes the reader feel secure in their purchase. The general public wants an authority to tell them a product is good, and safe, when they have limited knowledge of it themselves. Another version of this is the testimonial. Readers recognize themselves in these ads and relate the product success they see to themselves. There’s a sense of trust there. For the copywriter, it will be most effective to, again, include specifics like where the person lives, and the person’s name if possible. This way, the connection is deep.

Remember these principles when you begin your copywriting projects, and you’ll be off to a great start. The more you practice these strategies, the better you’ll become. The more you can stretch these ideas and expand on them, the more groundbreaking your writing will be. And the more powerful the writing, the greater the number of sales!

Just because the Internet has changed the way people advertise, it doesn’t mean that it’s the only way to advertise. There is plenty of room for all types of advertising in today’s markets. It’s important to take advantage of all types, whether you have a large business or a small business. To get the most business, don’t neglect any of these following advertising venues.

You may be surprised to learn that print advertising is still the most popular form of advertising. That’s because it’s still effective. Magazines offer a wide readership and direct mailers are becoming much more sophisticated. Recipients of mailers are more targeted than ever and the cost of sending a mailer is still inexpensive. Letting folks know what your company has to offer is still key to generating business. Print ads are a great way to help people find you.

Business cards, stationery, folders and packets, note cards-all of these things are what we refer to as identity pieces and they are also part of advertising. Using all these pieces together gives your company a uniformity that will build brand awareness with those who see your pieces. So, make your business cards match your other pieces to make a memorable presence.

The most popular way to advertise these days is via a website. But it can be less than helpful if your potential client doesn’t know your company name or that you’re out there. Grabbing a prime piece of real estate on the Internet can be tricky, so make sure you hire someone who knows not only how to create a stylish site, but that also knows how to get your site ranked. Keep in mind web presence is more than a website. It can also find form in blogs, social networking sites, Internet directories, and paid advertising.

Another great way to get noticed is with trade show booths. A trade show booth showcases your company in an atmosphere of eager potential clients-people who are there for the purpose of learning more about your business. With a well-designed booth behind you, along with banners, table drapes, and a handy stack of business cards, your personality can shine through and give potential clients the best impression of your company.

The cheapest kind of advertising is word of mouth. No fancy graphics needed. Just good old fashioned talking. As a business owner, make sure you are out in your community and talking. Do some pro bono work, or attach yourself to a charity. Support a local little league team. Do something to let your community know that you are a part of it. A sense of togetherness and involvement in a public capacity will go a long way in generating business.

The important thing to remember is that no matter how you advertise, you do it well. And the more ways you can reach out to potential clients, the more business you will generate. Any advertising is good. More is better. A wide variety is the best.
